I am recruiting a NEBOSH qualified Health & Safety Co-ordinator who ideally has environmental experience.

£28,000 - £30,000/annum

The role is offered on a permanent day shift (8AM - 4PM) although some flexibility is required as the site operates a 3-shift pattern and so you may be needed to plant accidents or major events out of hours.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, and hands-on , passionate about safety and able to drive strategy to build an engaging, safe, environment. They will identify, coordinate and drive improvements in safety whilst engaging operational and other support function stakeholders.

You will be responsible for safety inductions, managing training (both internal & external), and enforcing health & safety rules, in addition to the usual requirements of the role.

You will be joining a fast paced, busy, rapidly expanding manufacturer, that is currently increasing the number of new employees, hence it is an essential role to the business

Responsibilities:

To drive and ensure compliance to all Health & Safety systems through effective management & communication.

To ensure compliance to all environmental management systems plus to maintain ISO14001 through effective management and communication.

Liaise with senior management to ensure all plant safety and environmental requirements are being achieved. 

Assist with risk assessments as required and follow up control measures to completion

Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of a Coordinators knowledge.

Monitor the station for compliance to company safety procedures

Assist with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop required action plans with relevant processes

Update internal records with regards to incidents, near misses and accidents

Collate and produce weekly safety report as required

Attend health and safety meetings on a monthly basis

Undertake projects and information gathering to establish hazards and level of risk within the business
