Controls Manager (Hardware)

The Company
Our client supplies to a wide range of industries in particular manufacturers of automotive and aeronautical components.

Products are manufactured in Bristol and are distributed worldwide, with our main markets being the UK, Europe, USA, China and Mexico. on.
The Position
We are looking for an experienced controls manager (hardware) to join our team. The successful candidate will
be responsible for efficient & effective management in all aspects of hardware design from concept to completion
and to provide technical direction to the company as well as supporting, mentoring and managing staff. The
position requires someone who can hit the ground running and who can quickly build relations with colleagues,
suppliers and customers.
Experience is essential for this role as is the ability to organise your own time and the time of others, integrate
within the team and provide excellent service to our customers.
General Overview of Responsibilities
- Management and delivery of controls hardware design from concept to completion
- Provide technical direction on controls to the company
- Supporting, mentoring and managing staff
- Controls support
- Working effectively with suppliers
- Attending meetings and reporting
- Liaising with other managers in the company to collectively deliver what is required
Required Experience
- Advanced controls engineering skills
- Advanced AutoCAD
- PLC’s and HMI – design, development and programming would be an advantage
- Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens packages would be an advantage
- Mechanical understanding and skills would be an advantage
- Pneumatic understanding and skills would be an advantage
Qualifications
- Qualified in electrical/controls engineering to HNC/HND or above or commensurate experience.
